Facial Volume Restoration with Sculptra
off label use for cosmetic volume restoration in normal aging adults
Aging causes a gradual loss of soft tissue volume in the face resulting in flattening,softening, and eventual sagging of the skin. Soft tissues over high cheekbones flatten, eyes become “puffy” and tired looking, and the normal youthful rounded curves of the midface are replaced with lines, grooves, and hollows. Surgical procedures done without considering volume loss look smoother and tighter for a short time, but not younger!

To truly make someone look younger, at any age, the restoration of soft tissue volume loss is of paramount importance. The only exceptions are the full-faced individuals who may only need their volume resuspended to a more youthful height.
• Sculptra is a suspension of lactic acid particles which, when placed deep in the skin, stimulatethe immune system to metabolize them and lay down new collagen in the process
• Each treatment session the facial contour is sculpted to the desired fullness and contour. Thewater carrier dissipates in days, but the newly distributed particles yield 20-30% of the final result over 4-8 weeks. Complete results may require 2-6 sessions depending on the amount of product used each session and the body’s response to the product.
• Sculptra treatments give a true restoration of volume as a result of new collagen formation that has been observed to last longer than any “artificial” filler or fat.
• Sculptra is placed artistically in small amounts that allow accurate restoration regardless of the location, shape or severity of the soft tissue inadequacy.
