What is SinoFresh and Why Use an Antiseptic
The activity of SinoFresh is based on a blend of non-prescription and botanical antiseptics with unique surface activity against bacteria, fungi and viruses, most commonly associated with acute upper respiratory illness and chronic sinusitis. The need for an effective topical antimicrobial in nasal and sinus disease is well documented because, despite extended courses of systemic therapy, the spectrum of persistent bacteria, fungi, and viruses colonizing extra-mucosally, out of the reach of oral drugs, in the nose and sinuses is extensive. It is the persistent colonization that allows these organisms become opportunistic in the face of acute inflammation causing secondary bacterial complications of viral URI’s, acute allergic attacks, and acute inflammatory triggers such as cigarette smoke. Some of these organisms thought of as “ normal flora” survive on the surface membranes and function as “living antigens” in sensitive hosts causing antibody mediated inflammatory reactions that create the symptoms of dry stuffy congestion with facial pain/pressure. By reducing the overall concentration of these organisms, the microbial triggers of the inflammatory response are reduced to a subclinical concentration or eradicated, thereby alleviating the symptoms.
The nasal spray has been tested both in test tubes and animals to demonstrate its ability to kill, virtually on contact, the bacteria, fungi and viruses that are suspected to cause acute upper respiratory infection and the non-allergic reactions seen in the chronic sinusitis patient, including H1N1 virus and MRSA, resistant Staph bacteria that cause 15 Billion in hospital complications.
Swabs of the nasal cavity taken before and after SinoFresh use have shown clearance of pathogens in as little as 48 hours.
The product ingredients have been formulated into a nasal spray containing two active homeopathic ingredients along with moisturizers and microbialcidal mint oil aromatics to be used as a nasal hygiene product. After national distribution of over two million units, there have been no significant adverse side effects attributed to the use of SinoFresh nasal spray. The product can be used in conjunction with other traditional medications without fear of drug interaction.
No other agent attacks the cause of the acute infection or inflammatory response except for the dilutional effect of cups of saline irrigation. SinoFresh, 1-3 sprays three times daily, is used as an antiseptic nasal hygiene regimen in patients with acute URI and in chronic nasal and sinus symptoms and in patients who desire to use it to kill germs with acute URI. |
